Paige Goodwin's picture of Geoffrey (her bulldog) in a frosty Bushy Park is a perfect example of two of the main Composition lessons we teach in Year 6.

Adding gridlines to the image shows how exactly her framing works with the Rule of Thirds. The pathway roughly follows the left Vertical line - the line of trees are placed perfectly on the top Horizontal line and Geoffrey jogs into the image from the lower right Intersection point - usually considered to be the strongest point according to the "laws" of this technique.

In addition the frosty path taking the viewer into the image demonstrates how effectively Paige has used a Leading Line.

Top marks Paige & Geoffrey. Simple compositional techniques helping to create a lovely picture.
